Juicer > This photograph took silver in the Advanced Breaking the Rules catagory, I attempted to get the feel of a macro type shot, even given the size of the subject, thought it created an interesting contradiction.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Intermediate (TG) Scale 2 catagory. Taken in London's industrial Tate Modern gallery, the huge girders presented a perfect opportunity to capture a stark representation of scale.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Advanced Urban Decay catagory. I was wandering around the broken down neighborhood of East Berlin, when I came across this derilict building filled with penniless artists, I took a few shots as I wandered around, but when I wandered out back, I was struck by the allegory/irony in this scene (ER: Emergency Room), hope you are too.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Advanced Urban Decay catagory. The lines in this derilict office staircase in East Putney inspired me to this alternative crop....
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Advanced Pastoral 2007 catagory. Taken at dawn in the beautiful trout fishing area nestled at the base of the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa, its a perfect example of the benefits to the photographer of being an early riser.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Advanced Low Key catagory. Taken inside the famous church on Mont Saint Michel, the scene struck me instantly with its serenity. I tried to capture that through partial symmetry and Low Key techniques.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Intermediate (TG) Color Wheel : Analogous Palette catagory. Rust has a habit of making interesting subjects for photography, due to the range of analogous colour and captivating texture. Found this gem on an old bridge on the outskirts of Knysna in the Cape, South Africa.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Advanced Selective Inversion 2 catagory which allowed for selective manipulation. I'm a big fan of Kandinsky and with this experiment, if Kandinsky had taken up photography, PS, and shot modern architecture, I think this is what it would look like. The original picture also features here, and is an abstract of a portion of the KL Towers in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia.
Juicer > This photograph took gold in the Intermediate (TG) Hyperfocal Distance catagory. Taken on the beach on the beautiful Garden Route in South Africa, I was struck how the wealthy could avail themselves of such beautiful tracts of land. Harmony with nature, or a blight on the landscape, you decide....
